Austin, located in Central Texas, is the capital and the 4th largest city in Texas. 

In 2006, Austin was selected as the No. 2 Best Big City in "Best Places to Live" by Money magazine, and No. 3 in 2009, also the "Greenest City in America" by MSN.

According to CNN Headline News and Travel & Leisure magazine, Austin ranks No. 2 on the list of cities with the best people, referring to the personalities and attributes of the citizens. Austin was also voted America's #1 College Town by the Travel Channel. Forbes Magazine determined that Austin, TX was the least stressful large metro area.

Austin is consistently ranked among the three safest cities per capita of any size in many categories and for many reasons, especially because annually, per 100,000 people there are fewer than 5 people murdered.
